SEX robot that can be “seduced” Creator claims he is ‘struggling to meet the demand’ for his doll and needs to start mass producing the heads.
Arran Lee Square claims the Samantha doll is so popular that he is looking to outsource some of the manufacturing process.
The 36-year-old, from Holyhead, in North Wales, spent nearly four years working with creator Dr Sergi Santos on “Samantha”, which uses AI to interact with users.
The sex robot – which reacts to the touch and voice of users – went to market this summer and gained huge media attention, helping to drive sales.
This means there is now a need to step up production of the robots, which retail for around £3,500, reports the Daily Post.
Mr Squire wants to find a firm in the local area to manufacture the heads of the dolls, which have their bodies made in China.
“We are looking to mass produce the head for Samantha,” he said.
“We are having so many orders and are struggling to meet demand.
“We would very much like a company in North Wales to mass produce the head, including skull electronics.”
Samantha has appeared at European electronics fairs, sometimes attracting too much attention as some eager punters – dubbed “barbarians” by Dr Santos – have treated the doll too roughly.
It has worked to drive up demand and they now want manufacturers to approach them if they are interested in working with their firm, Synthea Amatus, which is also seeing a hike in demand for its standard sex dolls.
Mr Squire added: “We would choose the best company and award the contract to them.
“Basically, we need the whole head manufactured to fit in the circuit boards.
“We need the skull to be made with fixtures to assemble components and speaker.
“In short, we need a manufacturer to produce and assemble with our completed designs.
“Currently we are 3D printing the skull and doing all assembling in Barcelona.
“The body is made in a factory we have a collaboration with in China. We are looking to produce around 5,000 heads.”
Mr Squire has previously said that people have dubbed them “strange” and “perverts” for the project.
But the dad-of-two hit back at his critics and said his wife Hannah Nguyen has always been supportive.
